So as some of you know, this past weekend I went to The Pulse on Tour in Boston. Let me just say it was honestly one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. The dancers there are UNREAL with the talent. Just RIDICULOUS.
Little 11 year girls had me looking like I had NO RHYTHM whatsoever and almost made me switch careers. I’M NOT EVEN EXAGERATING. You THINK you know how to dance… until you go to Pulse lmao.
Some of the girls from 8 FLAVAS (the little girl group from ABDC) were there learning with me. Omg…..They were SICKKKK. LIke if the teacher taught a move..I’d do it..and then watch them, and they would do it totally different from me. And I’m like why didnt I think to do it that way. How do they move THAT powerful?
The choreographers taught SO fast. They would literally be like ok the first 8 moves is this….got that? Ok here’s the next 47 moves. It was really difficult to remember what came next. You have to be focused as hell.
But it was such a great experience, I learned TONS. For one thing, anybody can learn a choreo and just do the moves….it’s a whole other thing to take what you learned and perform the CRAP out of it (Think 2001 Britney Spears vs. 2013 Britney Spears). I never really understood that concept till now. You had to see the way people were dancing. I was in awe of everyone around me.
I realize I’m NOWHERE near the level I want to be at. But there’s so much more to strive for now.
My friend David who came with me managed to get a scholarship which was really cool.
Oh…and I’m actually bffs with a Pussycat Doll now. lol CRAZY. Carmit was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO nice and down to earth. She hosted the entire event and still cared enough to text me to see where I was, come and see me and make sure I was good. She really didn’t have to at all. Just the sweetest woman ever. Hopefully I can get into more Pulse events and keep somewhat of a friendship with her.
